Marilyn "Mickey" Holm

March 7, 1932 — October 28, 2020

Marilyn "Mickey" L. Holm, 88, of Jamesville, passed away Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center. She was born and raised in Cuba, NY and moved to Syracuse in 1951. Mickey was a 1951 graduate of SUNY Canton. She was an adult education teacher for the Syracuse City School District, instructing multiple levels of sewing. She retired after over 25 years of instruction. Mickey moved to Florida in 2000 and returned to Syracuse in 2012.

Mickey was an excellent seamstress, specializing in designing and making custom wedding gowns, men’s tailoring and also enjoyed making clothing for her family.

Mickey was a former member of St. Patrick's Church in Elbridge and Ascension Catholic Church in Florida. She enjoyed reading, traveling and cruises, but above all, loved spending time with family.

Mickey was predeceased by her husband, Jerry, in 2016; daughter-in-law, Marilyn Holm, in 2010; and son-in-law, Jeff Howard, in 2015.

Surviving are her daughters, Karen (Richard) Powell of White River Junction, VT, Pamela (Michael) Marmon of Hastings, Lisa Howard of Chittenango and Amy (Jeff) Loan of Syracuse; sons, Chris (Terry) Holm of Englewood FL and Brian (Kim) Holm of Venice, FL; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

There will be no services. Burial will be private.
