Marilyn (Schanzle) Copley, 89, of Syracuse, passed away Thursday at home, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Syracuse, she was a graduate of Marcellus High School. Granddaughter of the late Phillip A. Schanzle, who founded Schanzle Bakery in Marcellus in 1904, Marilyn had a deep connection to the family's baking tradition that her father carried into the 1950s. Throughout her professional journey, she dedicated many years of service to Edward's Department Store, Chappell’s, and Dunk & Bright Furniture.
Outside of her professional endeavors, Marilyn found great joy in the simple pleasures of life. She reveled in vacationing near any body of water, basking in the tranquility of those moments in the company of her loved ones.
Her creativity, talent, and unparalleled baking skills will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing and loving her.
