Marilyn Barry Draveck, 85, of Victor, and formerly of Camillus, passed away Saturday in Victor, following a long battle with cancer, surrounded by her loving family. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, Marilyn was a graduate of Most Holy Rosary High School. She received her bachelor’s degree from Le Moyne College and master’s from Oswego State. Marilyn was a teacher at the Franciscan Academy as well as a real estate agent with Normoyle Real Estate Inc. She was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church and an adoration chapel warrior. Marilyn loved spending winters in Florida with her husband, time with her family, and attending many of her grandchildren’s school events. She always looked forward to her monthly lunches with her close group of friends from Le Moyne College.
Marilyn was predeceased in 2003 by her husband of 43 years, Donald; son, Dr. James B.; parents, James and Marie Barry; and sisters, Shirley Barry and Jeanne Fitzmaurice.
Surviving are her sons, D. Andrew II (Maryanne) of Pittsford, Michael E. (Kelly) of Victor, Peter P. (Kristen) of Saratoga Springs, and Thomas M. (Tracey) of Camillus; daughter-in-law, Susan Draveck of Camillus; 12 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call Thursday, May 19 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
A funeral mass will follow at 12:30 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Church.
Marilyn will be laid to rest in St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, Syracuse.
