Marie G. Cross Wenham, 81, of Camillus, passed away Saturday, July 17, 2010 at St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center surrounded by her family. A lifetime resident of the Camillus area, she was born on Thursday, September 20, 1928 and was the daughter of Chauncey Elmer Cross and Genevieve Marie Bauder Cross. She was a graduate of Blodgett Vocational High School. Marie was a charter member of St. Michael's Lutheran Church and a member of its service guild, WELCA and the choir. She was also a member of the Camillus Seniors and the Triple “O” Campers. Marie was predeceased by her husband, Raymond James Wenham Jr., on April 26, 2002. Surviving are her daughters and sons-in-law, Jeanne and Richard Higgins of Columbia, South Carolina, Carol and Kevin Crossett of Syracuse and Mary and Darren Moyer of Baldwinsville; sons and daughters-in-law, James and Bonnie of Wellington, Florida, Paul and Jane of Camden and Mark and Anne Bechert of Ithaca; 17 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren, with one on the way; and several nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank the staff at Camillus Ridge Terrace for their loving care and friendship during Marie’s residency. The family is grateful for the exceptional care provided by the doctors, nurses and staff at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Relatives and friends may call Tuesday, July 20 from 3 to 6 p.m. at Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 21 in St. Michael's Lutheran Church. Marie will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners.
