Marie E. Herscha Esposito, 75, of Camillus, passed away Friday, July 8, 2011 at home, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Fenner on Monday, May 18, 1936, she was the daughter of August Patrick Herscha and Helen Virginia Gurtowski. She lived in Camillus since 1959. Marie was a 1953 graduate of St. John's Catholic Academy and she received a bachelor's degree in cytotechnology from Upstate Medical Center. She retired from Bryant & Stratton College as a clinical instructor. She was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church. Marie was also a member of the Camillus Art Association, Ye Old Red Hatters of Camillus, American Society for Clinical Pathologists, and Upper New York State Society of Cytology. She had a special passion for gardening and plants that she loved to share with others. Marie was predeceased by her sister, Louise Herscha. Surviving are her husband of 57 years, Francis; children, Michael (Karen) of Camillus, Marie (Timi Ann) of Rhode Island, Stephen (Stacie) of Liverpool, and Christopher (Robin) of Solvay; sister, Pauline (Rev. Thomas) Kendall of Delmar; brothers, August (Phyllis) Herscha of Rochester and Thomas (Patricia) Herscha of Florida; grandchildren, Diane, Maggie, Kaleigh and Stephen; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Relatives and friends may call Monday, July 11 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Services will be Tuesday, July 12 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home and 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church where Rev. William Esposito will celebrate a funeral Mass. Marie will be laid to rest in St. Mary’s Cemetery, DeWitt. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Joseph's Food Pantry, 5600 W. Genesee St., Camillus, NY 13031.
