Marie C. Mosey, 67, of Syracuse, passed away Monday, January 18, 2010 at home, surrounded by her family after a long battle with colon cancer. Born in Binghamton on Sunday, February 1, 1942, she was the daughter of Dr. John Timothy Kane and Marie Hand Kane. She was a graduate of St. Joseph's School of Nursing. Marie was always taking care of others. She was the school nurse at Split Rock Elementary for 28 years, retiring in 2003. She was a communicant of Holy Family Church. Marie enjoyed gardening, cooking and taking care of her family, especially her grandchildren. Marie was predeceased by her father in 1981. Surviving are her husband of 45 years, James; son and daughter-in-law, Dr. James and Julie of Richmond, VA; daughters and son-in-law, Theresa Mosey of Westvale and Jennifer and David Sabatino of Baldwinsville; her mother, Marie Kane of Binghamton; eight siblings; and grandchildren, Michael and Mary Sabatino and Sarah Mosey. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, January 23, 2010 at Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus and at 2 p.m. in Holy Family Church where a funeral Mass will be celebrated. Relatives and friends may call Friday, January 22, 2010 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Marie will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners.
