Margaret "Peggy" Salvagno Mandolfo

Margaret “Peggy” Salvagno Mandolfo, 75, of Fairmount, passed away Saturday at Francis House. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, she was a graduate of Liverpool High School and Bryant & Stratton. She was employed with Cellular One, Lipe Rollway Bearing and GMAC. A communicant of Holy Family Church, she was a former member of the church’s senior group. Margaret enjoyed listening to music, doing crafts and going to the casino with her husband. Above all, she loved spending time with her family and friends.

Margaret was predeceased by her first husband, Lodovicho “Lud” Salvagno in 1983; and sister, Judy Crook.

Surviving are her husband of 22 years, Joseph; sons, Gregory Salvagno of Syracuse and Scott Salvagno of Hubert, NC; stepdaughters, Theresa (James) Myers of Rockton, IL and Mary Jo (Michael) Hyde of Solvay; stepson, Joseph (Lisa Carlisle) Mandolfo of Brewerton; brothers, Michael (Jackie) Gates of Liverpool and Patrick (Jenny) Gates of England; grandchildren, Mila, Sarah, Andrew, Anthony, and Joseph; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will be forever grateful to the wonderful caregivers and volunteers at Francis House for the loving care provided to Margaret.

Relatives and friends may call Wednesday, January 23 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, January 24 at 10 a.m. in Holy Family Church. Margaret will be laid to rest in Pine Plains Cemetery, Clay.
