Margaret Mary (Abbey) Dauler, lovingly known as “Peggy”, 96, passed away peacefully on Monday. A lifelong Syracuse resident, she graduated from St. Anthony of Padua High School and Powelson Business Institute. Peggy dedicated over 21 years to her career at Crouse Hospital, where she worked in accounts payable and payroll before retiring in 2003. She was proud of her Irish heritage, visiting Ireland and never missing a St. Patrick's Day with family. Peggy cherished her home in Camillus, where she found joy in solving puzzles and above all, spending time with her beloved family and extended family. Her unwavering positivity and constant encouragement were an inspiration to everyone. She was a true cheerleader for all of us, always lifting our spirits with her infectious enthusiasm.
Peggy was predeceased by her husband, the love of her life, Richard; parents, William and Margaret Abbey; brothers, Bill, Jimmy, and Jack; and sisters, Betty and Pat.
Surviving are her sons, William (Pamela) and John (Kelly); four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.
To celebrate Peggy’s life, relatives and friends are invited to gather on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at 10 a.m. in Holy Family Church, 127 Chapel Dr., Syracuse.
Peggy will be laid to rest in Onondaga Valley Cemetery, Syracuse.
