Margaret Latorre, 85, formerly of Camillus, died Tuesday, February 12, 2008 at Community-General Hospital. Born in Syracuse on Monday, June 26, 1922, she was the daughter of Mabel Neely Everett and Frank LeRoy Robbins. She lived in Auburn for 28 years until moving to Camillus in 1994. Margaret was a graduate of Syracuse University, along with many family members starting with her grandfather, and was a member of the Delta Gamma Alumnae Association. For 13 years she was a library aide at the Auburn Enlarged City School District. She had a lifelong interest in traveling and traveled extensively throughout the United States and abroad. Margaret was instrumental in starting the Hand Bell Choir at Trinity United Methodist Church in Auburn. She was a member of Bellevue Heights United Methodist Church and the Owasco Yacht Club. She enjoyed music, reading and attending lectures at Syracuse University. Margaret's first husband, Charles W. Heath, died May 25, 1965, second husband, James V. Latorre, died October 16, 1999 and sister, Jean R. Cleeves, died in 2006. Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Jim George of Norcross, Georgia; sons and daughters-in-law, Charles Heath Jr. of Ithaca, David and Lauri Heath of Auburn and Douglas and Valerie Heath of Marcellus; stepdaughter and husband, Jennine and Jack Speier, M.D. of Minneapolis, Minnesota; stepson, Vincent R. Latorre of Syracuse; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 16, 2008 at Grace Chapel, 1674 Cherry Valley Turnpike, Skaneateles. Friends may call Friday, February 15, 2008 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Spring burial will be in Fort Hill Cemetery, Auburn.
