Margaret J. McAfee, 86, of Camillus, passed away Saturday at home. Born and raised in Harrisville, she lived in Camillus since 1956. A graduate of Central City Business Institute, Margaret was a secretary for General Electric and also worked for Qualified Consulting Services in Camillus. She was a communicant of Holy Family Church, an avid SU sports fan and also enjoyed watching the West Genesee Marching Band perform. Margaret loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed going to all their sporting and musical events. Margaret was predeceased by her twin sister, Marian Michalek and sister, Josephine Lord. Surviving are her husband of 63 years, William; daughter, Joanne (Donald) Shepard of Manlius; sons, Tom (Audrey) of Liverpool and Gary (Ann) of Camillus; sisters, Mary (John) MacAleese of Cranberry Lake, Gertrude (Kenneth) Daniels of Matawan, NJ and Jane McDonald of Gainesville, FL; brother, Henry Walrath of Fredericksburg, VA; grandchildren, Kristyn (Claude) Shaw, Matthew (Sarah), Sara and Nicholas Shepard, Jeffrey and Christopher; great-grandchildren, Tyler Allen and Isabelle Shaw and many nieces, nephews and friends. Relatives and friends may call Wednesday, October 8, 2014 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Services will follow at the funeral home at noon.
