Margaret (Dickinson) Page, 94, of Syracuse, passed away Wednesday, October 18, 2017. Born in New York City, she lived in Levittown, Waterloo and Syracuse. Margaret received a master's degree in nursing administration in public health from Syracuse University in 1978. Prior to that, she attended Barnard College, St. Luke's University and Teachers College at Columbia University, where she received her bachelor's degree in 1946. In 1988, Margaret and her beloved husband moved to Waterloo. In 1990, she retired as a public health nurse with the Onondaga County Dept. of Health and as the associate director for the Dept. of Health in Maternal and Child Health. In 1997, Margaret returned to Camillus where she lived for 10 years before moving to Rochester in 2007. In 2013, she returned to Syracuse. She was a member of the American Association of University Women, Business Professional Women's Club, Mycroft Holmes Society, Friends of Maxwell Library, Health Dept. Auxiliary and the Red Hat Society. An active member of Park Central Presbyterian Church in Syracuse, Margaret served as an elder and deacon. For a period of time, she was a member of the Rochester Christian Reformed Church. Margaret loved her family. She enjoyed her dog, Precious, and also reading, driving, traveling and cooking.
Margaret was predeceased by her husband, Donald R. Page Sr., in 1990.
Surviving are her daughter, Donna (Phillip) Ruggeri of Plattsburgh; sons, Donald (Donna) Page of Camillus, now residing in Henderson and Kenneth (Kathrine) Page of Newark, DE; sister, Elizabeth Gavey of Pennsylvania; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call Saturday, October 21 from 11 a.m. to noon at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
Memorial services will follow at noon at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date in Maplegrove Cemetery, Waterloo.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Margaret’s name may be made to the Rochester Christian Reformed Church, 2750 Atlantic Ave., Penfield, NY 14526.
