Margaret “Marge” Antos, 95, of Geddes, passed away Saturday, March 10, 2012 at Van Duyn Home & Hospital. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, she was born on Friday, August 4, 1916 and was the daughter of Paul Waverchak and Mary Zory Waverchak. Marge was a graduate of Central Tech High School. She was employed with L.C. Smith & Brothers Typewriter Co. for five years. She was a communicant of St. Cecilia's Church and an advocate for Onondaga Community Living and for the blind. She loved spending time at the Solvay-Geddes Community Youth Center and volunteered as a clown going to area nursing homes. She was devoted to her family and enjoyed spending time with them. Marge was predeceased by her husband, Joseph F. in 1988; younger siblings, Bernard Waverchak and Mary McGraw; and her daughter-in-law, Phyllis Antos. Surviving are her sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph and Lois of North Potomac, Maryland, James and Peggy of Hong Kong, Thomas of North Syracuse, and Paul of Manlius; grandchildren, Christopher, Matthew and Eden Antos; and several nieces and nephews. There will be no calling hours. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, March 15 at 9 a.m. in St. Cecilia's Church. Margaret will be laid to rest in Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
