Margaret A. (Salanger) Miller, 87, of Fairmount Hills, passed away Tuesday, December 1, 2009 at Community General Hospital after a short illness. Born in Syracuse on Monday, April 17, 1922, she was the daughter of James Francis Salanger and Alice Coakley Salanger. She lived in the Camillus-Fairmount area since 1954. A communicant of Holy Family Church, Margaret was also a volunteer for the food pantry and bereavement committee. Her greatest joy was traveling with her husband, Jim, who passed away in 1992. Margaret was also predeceased by her brother, James Salanger in 1993. Surviving are her daughters, Margaret (Les) Volles of Onondaga Hill, Kathleen (Patrick) McCreesh of Aptos, California, Ann (Mark) Luce of Damascus, Maryland and Mary Beth (Daniel) O'Donnell of Woodstock, Georgia; sons, James (Suzanne) Miller of Mount Vernon, Ohio, Thomas (Lisha Green) Miller of Petaluma, California, Daniel (Jules Olaso) Miller of San Francisco, California and Michael (Karen) Miller of Rochester; sister, Ruth Ann (Jack) Stubbs of Chaumont; brother Jim’s wife, Dolores Salanger of Fairmount; 17 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 4, 2009 in Holy Family Church. Relatives and friends may call Thursday, December 3, 2009 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
