Margaret A. Jackson, 82, of Camillus, passed away Tuesday, April 17, 2012, after a brief illness with her loving family by her side. Born in Scranton, Pennsylvania on Tuesday, September 3, 1929, she was the daughter of Peter Kearney and Agnes Hughes Kearney. She graduated from Holy Rosary High School in Scranton, married Harold F. Jackson on her birthday, September 3, 1951, and moved to Camillus in 1955. She retired in 1994 from Personnel Pool. Peg was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church in Camillus and St. Christopher's Church in Stuart, Florida. She was a longtime member of Bellevue Country Club in Syracuse and Miles Grant Country Club in Stuart. She was an enthusiastic traveler, gardener, a gracious hostess, and loved Ireland and all things Irish. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Peg was predeceased by her husband, Harold, on September 11, 2006; grandson, Thomas Jackson; and sister, Mary Caisse. Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Kristy of Westvale; daughter and son-in-law, Jill and Skip Yackel of Camillus; grandchildren, Betsy (Jeff) Hubbard of Camillus, Timothy Jackson of Syracuse, Meredith (Jake) Boula and Molly (Gordon) Palmer, both of Mooresville, North Carolina, and Maggie Yackel of Charlotte, North Carolina; great-grandchildren, Kaylin, Corinne, Anthony, Camryn, Lily and Max; and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call Friday, April 20 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Services will be Saturday, April 21 at 9:15 a.m. at the funeral home and at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church where a funeral Mass will be celebrated.
