Marcia Kelly Haggerty, 79, of Camillus and Sarasota, Florida, passed away Saturday, February 23, 2013 at Upstate University Hospital at Community General. Born in Utica on Saturday, March 11, 1933, she lived most of her life in Westvale and wintered in Florida for more than 15 years. Marcia graduated from Convent High School and Le Moyne College. She was a communicant of Holy Family Church and member of the parish council. She volunteered for Meals on Wheels and Community General Hospital. She enjoyed cooking and was an avid reader. Marcia was predeceased by her parents, Mark and Marian Kelly; and husband, John. Surviving are her daughters, Susan Haggerty of Camillus, and Kelly (Mark) Jacobus of Rutherford, New Jersey; sons, John of Nashville, Tennessee, Mark (Colleen), Paul, and Peter, all of Syracuse, and David (Jeff) of Madison, New Jersey; grandchildren, John Jacobus, Katherine (Brian) Terhune, and Fallon and Emily Haggerty; sister, Carol Hession of Wernersville, Pennsylvania; and brother, Mark Kelly of Westvale. Relatives and friends may call Tuesday, February 26 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Services will be Wednesday, February 27 at 9:15 a.m. at the funeral home and at 10 a.m. in Holy Family Church where a funeral Mass will be celebrated. Marcia will be laid to rest in St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to one's favorite charity.
