Madaline Caslake, 82, of Syracuse, passed away on October 5 at Upstate University Hospital. She was joined in heaven, just days later, by her husband, John, of 61 years. Born and raised in Scranton, PA, she moved to the Syracuse area in 1954. Madaline was a graduate of Vocational High School and was employed by Solvay Union Free School District for 24 years. A communicant of St. Marianne Cope Parish at Our Lady of Peace Church, she was a member of the Altar & Rosary Society. Madaline was also a member of the Lakeland Seniors and the Syracuse MOST and volunteered for the Solvay Music Boosters and Dollars for Scholars. She enjoyed reading and traveling.
Madaline was predeceased by her daughter, Marijane.
Surviving are her daughter, Joanne Caslake of Syracuse; sister, Evelyn (Nicholas) Crisafi of Liverpool; sister-in-law, Eva (Edward) Olszewski of Syracuse; and nephew, Christian Crisafi.
Relatives and friends may call Tuesday, October 18 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, October 19 at 10 a.m. at Saint Marianne Cope Parish (Our Lady of Peace Church) 203 Halcomb St., Lakeland.
Madaline will be laid to rest at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Lakeland.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of CNY & Hospice of the Finger Lakes, 990 Seventh North St., Liverpool, NY 13088.
