Macel Francis "Corky" Gilbert
September 8, 1928 — June 22, 2018
Macel Francis “Corky” Gilbert, 89, of Oswego, passed away Friday, June 22, 2018 at the VA Medical Center.
Macel served in the Army during the Korean War. He was a NYS trooper for many years before owning and operating, along with his wife Helen, The Pines in Scriba, NY. Upon retirement, Macel enjoyed many wonderful days at the Fallbrook Club in Osceola, NY.
Macel was predeceased by his wife, Helen; sister, Betty Weiss; and brother, Pierre C. Gilbert.
Surviving are his daughter, Donna (John) Rapacke; the joy of his life his grandson, Andrew (Rosalinda) Rapacke; great-granddaughter, Bella Rose Rapacke; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
The family would like to thank the nursing staff on 6B at the VA Medical Center for their excellent care, kindness and compassion provided to Macel.
Per Macel’s wishes, there will be no services.
In lieu of flowers, do something nice for someone less fortunate.
