Lyndon “Shep” Shepard, 74, of Warners, passed away Friday at home. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, he retired from Crucible Steel in 1990 and was previously employed by Camillus Cutlery. The highlight of Lyndon’s life was the fire department. He was a proud volunteer firefighter and former fire commissioner with the Warners Memphis Fire Department for over 40 years, earning the “New Yorker” helmet in 2008 for being the top responder for his department. Lyndon enjoyed playing cards and doing puzzles, but above all, loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-granddaughter.
Lyndon was predeceased by his parents, Gale and Sherlie Shepard.
Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Bonnie Shepard; daughters, Christina Guernsey and Tammy Darling, both of Warners; siblings, Martin, Charles, Estelle and Lorraine; grandchildren, Britini, Noah, Nathaniel and Hannah and great-granddaughter, Maddie.
Services will be Saturday, December 4 at 1 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
