Lucy (Bukowy) Currie

Camillus

Lucy (Bukowy) Currie, 94, of Camillus, passed away Sunday at Syracuse Home Association. Born in NYC, she was raised in Freehold, NJ, and moved to Camillus in 1952. Lucy earned her bachelor's degree from Rider College in Lawrenceville, NJ, and worked for Egan Real Estate and Gallagher Real Estate. A communicant of St. Joseph's Church, she was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing bridge and traveling. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family.

Lucy was predeceased by her husband, Douglas; parents, Anthony and Aniela Bukowy; sister, Joanie Whitesides; and brother, Henry Bukowy.

Surviving are her daughters, Susan Roche of Camillus and Carol Olech of Fairmount; son, David (Madeline Cherry) of Ottawa; grandchildren, Phillipe (Vicky), Danielle (Sarah), Natalie, Nicole (Edouard), Megan (Adam) and Lauren; great-grandson, James; and several nieces and nephews.

There will be no calling hours.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, July 22, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church, 5600 W. Genesee St., Camillus. 

Lucy will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Joseph's Food Pantry, 5600 W. Genesee St., Camillus, New York 13031.
