Lucille “Lue” B. McCulley, 96, of Camillus, passed away Friday, August 28, 2020 at home alongside her loving and devoted daughter, Patty Ann and supportive friend, Therese Cacchione. Born in Triadelphia, WV she lived in Camillus since 1959. A graduate of St. Joseph's Academy and the College of Commerce Business School, Lucille was employed with Wheeling Steel Corp. before leaving in 1947 to raise her family. She was an active 4-H member and leader. As a communicant of Holy Family Church, Lucille volunteered with the food pantry and was a member of the Holy Family Seniors. She also belonged to Westside Seniors and Camillus Seniors.
Lucille enjoyed dancing. While in West Virginia, she was a member of a folk-dance group that performed in several states. She was a former member of L.A.C.E. Dance Club, Barge-Thru Square Dance Club and Cruising Country Line Dance Group. She also enjoyed crafts, sewing, baking cookies, reading, birdwatching and gardening. She was an avid SU sports fan and loved the Turning Stone Casino.
Lucille was predeceased by her beloved husband of 64 years, Jack, in 2011; six sisters; five brothers; and granddaughter, Elisa McCulley.
Surviving are her daughters, Kitty Lou (John) Phillips of Pennington, NJ and Patty Ann McCulley of Camillus; son, John M. (Mary) McCulley of Liverpool; sister, Rita Greene of Indianapolis, IN; grandchildren, Amanda (Michael Palese) McCulley of NYC, Katie (Darren) Kraft of Bethel, CT, Christie (John) Fogarty of Kensington, MD and Andrew McCulley of Liverpool; several great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Relatives and friends may call Wednesday, September 2 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Holy Family Church, 127 Chapel Dr., Syracuse.
A funeral Mass will follow at 10:30 a.m. in Holy Family Church. Lucille will be laid to rest in Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
