Louise D. Wagner, 96, of Westvale, passed away Monday at McHarrie Life. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, she was a graduate of Warners High School and Syracuse University, where she received her master's degree. She retired in 1977 as principal of Brighton and Roberts School of the Syracuse City School District. Louise and her husband operated an antique shop and summer resort in Cape Vincent. She was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church and participated in several projects associated within the church. She was also an active volunteer with the Erie Canal Museum, St. Camillus Health & Rehabilitation Center, Tibbetts Point Lighthouse Museum, Cape Vincent Historical Museum, and enjoyed spending her summers in Cape Vincent. Louise was a member of the Eastern Star, Delta Kappa Gamma Society and the NY State Teachers' Retirement and Administrators. Louise was predeceased by her husband, Charles; and sisters, Dr. Mary Durkee and Sarah Ferrara. Louise is survived by many close friends. There will be no calling hours. Services will be Wednesday, January 13 at 10 a.m. in St. Luke's Episcopal Church. Louise will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners.
