Louis J. Ruffini, 62, of Marcellus, passed away peacefully on Tuesday at home. Born in Hartford, CT, he was a lifetime resident of the Syracuse area. After graduating from West Genesee High School, Louis continued his education at Syracuse University, eventually becoming the esteemed president of Rumetco Sales in Syracuse. Louis was more than a successful businessman; he was a cherished member of the “Four O’clock Charlies”, finding joy in their camaraderie and shared experiences. In his leisure time, he could be found casting a line while fishing in the Caribbean. Above all, he treasured spending time with his family and friends.
Louis was predeceased by his former wife, Deborah Ruffini, in 2019; parents, Florence and Philip Ruffini; and son-in-law, Michael S. Rinaldo, in 2022.
Surviving are his loving wife, Katy Karlovitz; daughter, Larissa Rinaldo of Camillus; sons, Louis M. (Jennifer) of Tampa, FL, and Ryan of Syracuse; step-sons, Stephen, Brian, and Connor Karlovitz, all of Marcellus; grandsons, Mason, Grayson, and Ryan II; siblings, Jane Ruffini and Gia Ruffini, both of Camillus, and Philip P. (Jean) of Fayetteville; and many nieces and nephews.
To celebrate Louis’s life, relatives and friends are invited to gather on Saturday, July 20, 2024, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. A funeral service will follow at the funeral home.
Louis will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners, at a later date.
