Lorrayne A. Piegdon, 88, of Camillus, passed away Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at Upstate University Hospital at Community General. Born in Pershing, Oklahoma on Saturday, May 3, 1924, she was the daughter of William Guy Molloy and Arletta (Austin) Molloy. After spending her early years in Edmond, Oklahoma, Lorrayne resided in Syracuse from 1946 until moving to Camillus in 1952. An avid reader and active communicant of Holy Family Church, she was an altar cleaner and member of the Legion of Mary, Altar & Rosary Society, Women's Eucharistic League, Bible Study and Book Club. She was also a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. Lorrayne was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Casimer, on April 19, 2004; son, David Piegdon; and grandson, Maxwell Piegdon. Surviving are her sons and daughters-in-law, Michael D. and Therese Piegdon of Glenbrook, New South Wales, Australia and James W. and Patricia Piegdon of Elmira; daughters and sons-in-law, Kathleen Roberts of Edmond, OK, Jeanne and Scott Barnaskey, Monica and Lloyd Todeschini and Elaine and John Driscoll, all of Syracuse; sister, Doris Hayes of Reno, Nevada; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one niece and one nephew. Relatives and friends may call Saturday, January 5 from 9 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Services will follow at 10:15 a.m. at the funeral home and at 11 a.m. in Holy Family Church where a funeral Mass will be celebrated. Lorrayne will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners.
