Lorraine P. Eldred, 82, of Fairmount, passed away Sunday, July 18, 2010 at St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, Lorrie was born on Friday, May 18, 1928 and was the daughter of Joseph Dietz and Sophie Sarat Dietz. She was in the restaurant business for over 40 years. Lorrie was a communicant of Holy Family Church and a member of the Holy Family Seniors. She enjoyed bowling in the senior leagues. She was devoted to her family and enjoyed time with them, especially her seven grandchildren. Lorrie was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Sophie Sarat Dietz. Surviving are her husband, Robert, of 62 years; son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Melody of Cazenovia; daughters and sons-in-law, Robin and Steve Brown of Onondaga Hill and Karen and Tom Madigan of Camillus; grandchildren, Meghan and Lauren Brown, Ryan, Dylan and Michael Madigan and Taylor and Jack Eldred; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Joan Dietz of Camillus; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Relatives and friends may call Tuesday, July 20 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, July 21 at 10 a.m. in Holy Family Church. Lorraine will be laid to rest in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Syracuse.
