Loretta Jean (Schwoyer) Corcoran, 86, of Fairmount, passed away peacefully on Saturday, surrounded by her family. Born and raised in Philadelphia, PA, she later moved to Syracuse where she and her husband, James, built a loving home and raised their family.
Loretta cherished making lasting memories by taking road trips, visiting family, playing bingo, and vacationing in Wildwood and Atlantic City, NJ. She brought happiness to everyone around her and enjoyed sharing life stories with those she loved.
A devoted communicant of St. Charles-St. Ann's Church, Loretta dedicated her time to sharing the rosary with others and volunteering at St. Camillus Health & Rehabilitation, as well as various other organizations. Her love for her family was unparalleled, and she treasured every moment spent with her children and grandchildren.
Loretta was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, James Patrick Jr., in 2021; siblings, Margaret Laskowski, Bernadette Bobbenrieth, Clara St. Marie, and Bill Schwoyer; and daughter-in-law, Maureen Corcoran.
Surviving are her children, Patrick (Pamela) Corcoran, Bill Corcoran, and Jeanne (Mark) Corcoran-Dellinger; grandchildren, Casey (Dan) Mitchell, Katelyn Corcoran, Kaylee (Billy) Kern, and Mark Dellinger Jr.; great-grandchildren, Isla and Everett Kern; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
To celebrate Loretta’s life, relatives and friends are invited to gather on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, October 3, 2024, at 11:30 a.m. in St. Charles-St. Ann’s Church.
Loretta will be laid to rest in the Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Syracuse.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Charles-St. Ann’s Church, 501 S. Orchard Rd., Syracuse, NY 13219, or to Friends of the Rosamond Gifford Zoo, 1 Conservation Pl., Syracuse, NY 13204.
