Loretta J. Crossett, 79, of Camillus, passed away Sunday at home. She lived most of her life in Warners, cooking and baking for family and friends. Loretta was "cutting edge" in the '60s as a working mom, executive secretary, first at Carrier Corp., then at Mead Containers, and ultimately, retiring as a legal secretary from Allan Law Office in Camillus, where she made Bob Allan an adjunct family member. So that she could be home when her kids were home, she had a short stint as a school bus driver, in between those positions. If she wasn't baking or cooking, she was on the go, especially with her girlfriends, the "Golden Girls." Loretta was predeceased by her husband, Arthur "Bud" Crossett, in 1990. Surviving are her four children, Rosemarie (Tim) Nelson of Jamesville, Art "Buddy" Crossett of Ringgold, GA, John Crossett of Chattanooga, TN, and Jerry (Linda) Crossett of Camillus, six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins, all left to cherish memories of Loretta. Relatives and friends may call Wednesday, December 16 from 10 a.m. to noon at St. Joseph's Church, 5600 W. Genesee St., Camillus. A funeral Mass will follow at 12:15 p.m. at the church. Loretta will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Loretta's name may be made to St. Joseph's Food Pantry, 5600 W. Genesee St., Camillus, NY 13031 or to Hospice of CNY, 990 Seventh North St., Liverpool, NY 13088.
