Lois J. Harris, 88, of Liverpool, formerly of Split Rock, passed away Friday, June 23, 2017 at Elderwood at Liverpool. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, she graduated from Onondaga Valley Academy.
Lois was employed with Syracuse University for 37 years before retiring in 1995. A communicant of the Church of St. Michael and St. Peter, she was a member of the Altar & Rosary Society at the former St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church. Lois was an avid SU sports fan. Above all, she was a devoted mother and grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and extended family.
Lois was predeceased by her daughter, Deborah Harris; and sister, Ruth Stainton.
Surviving are her daughters, Linda (John) Cook of Geddes, Maryann (Jeffrey) Elrod of Mission Viejo, CA and Laurie (Peter) Sala of Jamesville; sons, Mark (Marie) of Marcellus, Michael (Maureen) of Cleveland, Brian of Central Square and Scott of Kansas City, MO; former husband, Donald Harris of Cicero; daughter-in-law, Rebecca Thomas of Farmington; grandchildren, Kevin and Matthew Cook, Christopher, Timothy and Kelly Harris, Jillian Stach, Michelle and Thomas Harris and Jake Sala; great-grandchildren, Molly and Jack Cook, Kennedy and Landon Stach and Conor Harris; and several nieces and nephews, especially her loving niece, Christine.
Relatives and friends may call Wednesday, June 28 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
A funeral Mass will follow at 1:30 p.m. in the Church of St. Michael & St. Peter, 4782 West Seneca Turnpike. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Lois' name may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Memphis, TN 38101.
