Lillian Sartwell Murray, 95, of Warners, passed away Sunday, November 25, 2012 at Upstate University Hospital at Community General, surrounded by her loving family. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, she was born on Sunday, September 23, 1917 and was the daughter of Floyd Sartwell and Hanna Brown Sartwell. Lillian worked several years at Easy Washer during World War II and was a member of Warners United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker and loved spending time with her family. She also enjoyed gardening, antiquing and square dancing. Lillian was predeceased by her husband, Raymond Carlton Murray on August 11, 2001; daughter, Mary Leyva; and sons, Martin O'Brien, Raymond "Bud" Murray and James "Dick" Murray. Surviving are her sons and daughter-in-law, Walter O'Brien of Syracuse and Ronald and Arlene Murray of North Syracuse; daughters, Shirley Vicarie of Syracuse, Melanie Allen of Warners and Marilyn Mackey of Tully; brother and sister-in-law, Clyde and Norma Sartwell of Clay; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Relatives and friends may call Thursday, November 29 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Funeral services will be Friday, November 30 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Michael Grinnals officiating. Lillian will be laid to rest in White Chapel Memory Gardens, DeWitt.
