Leonard A. Van Horn Jr., 43, formerly of Syracuse, passed away Thursday, July 10, 2014 due to injuries sustained from a motorcycle accident in South Carolina. A lifetime resident of Syracuse, he lived in South Carolina since 1993. Len was a graduate of West Genesee High School and the University of Buffalo. He was employed with Integrated Combustion Solutions in Duncan, SC. He enjoyed competitive mountain biking and paint ball and loved spending time with his family, especially his daughter. Surviving are his daughter, Sarah Van Horn of Simpsonville, SC; parents, Leonard and Cheryl Van Horn of Fairmount; sisters, Kim (Dan Venner) Garcia of Fairmount, Christa (John) Baumes of Syracuse and Stephanie Van Horn of Fairmount; brothers, Brian (Karen) Lovell and Scott (Dawn) Van Horn, both of Camillus and Kevin (Suezette) Van Horn of Warners; former wife, Janna Van Horn of Simpsonville, SC; stepdaughters, Leslie (John) Gregory of Columbia, SC and Amy Patterson of Simpsonville, SC; step-granddaughter, Mia; and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call Monday, July 14 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, July 15 at 10 a.m. in Holy Family Church, 127 Chapel Dr., Fairmount. Len will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners.
