Leona Bjorklund House, 92, of Camillus, passed away at her daughter's home in Fairport on Friday, February 20, 2015. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, she was born on October 8, 1922, and was the daughter of John and Dina Bjorklund. She was a graduate of Eastwood High School and earned her associate's degree from Onondaga Community College. Leona worked for the NY Telephone Co., Gulf Oil, Syracuse University, and Bond, Schoeneck & King, before becoming bookkeeper for her husband's business, House Sheet Metal Co., where she worked for over 30 years. She enjoyed painting and began studying Quantum Physics at the age of 85. Leona was predeceased by her husband, Leonard, in 2013. Surviving are her daughter, Debra Lyda of Fairport; grandchildren, Elizabeth Lyda of New York; James (Angela) Lyda of San Francisco, CA; Jack Lyda II of Spencerport; brother-in-law, Donald House of Syracuse; great-grandchild, Naomi Lyda; and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may attend calling hours Wednesday, February 25 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
