Leo Henry Goss Jr., 95, of Solvay, passed away Friday at home. A lifetime resident of Syracuse, he graduated from Onondaga Valley Academy and was a U.S. Navy veteran. Leo was employed with Onondaga County in various departments before retiring in 1992. He previously worked at the NY Telephone Co. for over 20 years. A communicant of Holy Family Church, Leo was a member of the Tipperary Hill Post 1361 American Legion for many years.
Leo was predeceased by his parents, Leo and Mildred Goss; and sisters, MaryJane Heimbach, Eloise Hanavan, and Mildred Nagy.
Surviving are the mother of his children, Barbara Goss; daughters, Kim Darisaw of Camillus and Pamela Corbett of Marcellus; grandchildren, Patrick, Alyssa, Camryn, Alana, Chloe, Avery, and Angel; great-grandchildren, Zyia, Jermaine, and Noah; and sister, Ann Catanzarita.
Relatives and friends may call Wednesday, March 15 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, March 16 at 10 a.m. in Holy Family Church, 127 Chapel Dr., Syracuse.
Leo will be laid to rest in Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Syracuse.
