Lawrence W. Gardiner

August 14, 1952 — May 26, 2018

Lawrence W. Gardiner, 65, of Jordan, passed away Saturday, May 26, 2018 at Francis House. Born in Roslyn, he grew up in Liverpool. Larry retired in 1994 after 20 years with the Syracuse Police Department. Following retirement, he drove a school bus for Cato-Meridian School District for the next 20 years. A communicant of Holy Family Church, Larry was a member of the Syracuse PBA. He enjoyed gardening, was an avid baseball fan, but above all, loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Larry was predeceased by his parents, William and June Gardiner.

Surviving are his wife of 43 years, the former Kate Nestor; daughter, Amanda of Solvay; son, Matthew (Tracy) Gardiner of Memphis; sister, Susan MacKenzie of Baldwinsville; brothers, Donald (Eileen) Gardiner of Syracuse and Michael Gardiner of Baltimore, MD; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call Wednesday, May 30 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, May 31 at 10 a.m. in Holy Family Church, 127 Chapel Dr., Syracuse. Larry will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Francis House, 108 Michaels Ave., Syracuse, NY 13208.
