Lawrence E. LaFlamme, 84, of Camillus, died Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at Community-General Hospital. Born in North Pownal, Vermont on Saturday, March 8, 1924, he was the son of John Eugene LaFlamme and Lillian May Williams LaFlamme. He was raised in Bennington and lived in Camillus since 1964. Larry received a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the University of Vermont. A sales engineer for General Electric Co., he retired in 1988 after 36 years. Larry was an Army veteran of World War II and received the Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal, four bronze battle stars, Silver Star and Air Medal. He was a member of the 483rd Bomb Group of the 15th AAF, stationed in Italy. Larry was predeceased by his parents, John and Lillian (Williams) LaFlamme; brother, Alfred LaFlamme; and son-in-law, Lawrence Capone. Surviving are his wife of 60 years, the former Caroline Humphries Sanford; daughters and son-in-law, Helen Capone of Ewing, New Jersey, and Lauren and Jan Waldron of Richmond, Virginia; sons and daughter-in-law, David and Bonnie LaFlamme of Middleburgh, Florida, and John LaFlamme of Camillus; sister, Alice Bailey of Bennington, Vermont, and grandchildren, Chante, Anna, John, Aaron, Lillian, Janelle and Lindsay. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 19, 2008 at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus with Rev. Gregory LeStrange officiating. Friends may call preceding the service from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
