Kristie M. Carter-Knapp, 40, of Eastwood, passed away Saturday, March 25, 2017 at home, surrounded by her loving family after a courageous two-year battle with cancer. Born in Billings, MT, she was raised in Roundup, MT before moving to the CNY area in 1995. Kristie was a 1999 graduate of the University of Rochester and earned her Juris Doctor degree from Syracuse University College of Law in 2001. She was most recently employed as an attorney with Sidney P. Cominsky, LLC. Kristie was a faithful member of St. Stephen Lutheran Church. She enjoyed golfing, scrapbooking, traveling and gardening, but above all, loved spending time with her family.
Surviving are her husband of 10 years, Michael S. Knapp; son, Montgomery B. Knapp; stepson, Kane M. Saunders; mother, Karla Cramer; father, Duane (Pam) Carter; sisters, Jamie (Scott) Carter, Mandie Carter, Elyse Cramer and Alexa Cramer; grandparents, Vivian Johnson and Ernest (Joann) Larsen; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call Wednesday, March 29 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
Services will be Thursday, March 30 at 10 a.m. in St. Stephen Lutheran Church, 873 Dewitt St., Syracuse, NY, 13203.
