Kristen A. Kovacs-MacBride, 49, of Camillus, passed away peacefully on Thursday. Born and raised in Syracuse, Kristen was a proud graduate of West Genesee High School. After earning her Bachelor of Science degree from SUNY Plattsburgh, Kristen embarked on a journey of exploration and growth. She ventured to North Carolina, where she dedicated herself to the noble profession of teaching. However, the call of her hometown beckoned, and Kristen returned to the Syracuse area, where she embarked on a distinguished career with Verizon as a Network Support Technician for over 15 years. Beyond her professional endeavors, Kristen's passions were as diverse as they were vibrant. An avid cat lover, she found solace and joy in the companionship of her feline friends. She possessed a keen eye for aesthetics, delighting in the art of decoration and the beauty of nature as she tended to her beloved flowers. Kristen's culinary skills were legendary among her circle of family and friends, who eagerly anticipated her delicious creations. Her adventurous spirit led her to many places in the world, from beloved destinations like the Dominican Republic and Cancun, to the historic streets of Boston to the tranquil shores of the 1000 Islands, and the sun-drenched beaches of Wildwood and Cape May. A fervent competitor, Kristen reveled in the thrill of board games, showcasing her strategic prowess and unwavering determination. Yet, amidst her many passions and pursuits, Kristen's greatest joy was found in the company of her loved ones, especially her cherished nieces and nephews. Her warmth, laughter, generosity, and boundless love enriched the lives of all who knew her.
Kristen was predeceased by her father, Robert Kovacs, in 2004.
Surviving are her husband of six years, John MacBride; mother, Judith Kovacs of Camillus; brothers, Robert (Kimberly) Kovacs of Cicero and Richard Kovacs of Camillus; sister-in-law, Lisa (Tom) MacBride-Matthews of Syracuse; loving nieces and nephews, Alexander (Bethany), Nicholas, Mallory (Jamal) and Maria; and loving great-nieces and great-nephews, Camryn, Tatum, Kieran, and Vinny.
