Kevin Ryan Hickey, 20, of Camillus, passed away Friday at The Centers at St. Camillus. Born in Long Beach, California on January 18, 1994, he lived in Auburn from 1994 until moving to Camillus in 2009. Kevin was a student in the Auburn City School District before graduating from West Genesee High School in 2012. He was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church in Camillus and former communicant of St. Mary's Church in Auburn. A participant in the Challenger Program with the Auburn Little League and the National Soap Box Derby, he enjoyed spending time with his family, friends and pets. He was an inspiration to everyone who knew him and had a contagious smile that brought a smile to those around him. Kevin was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Bill Holzhauer and paternal great-grandmother, Mary Hickey. Surviving are his mother, Michelle (Holzhauer) Hickey of Camillus; father, Dennis (Christine) Hickey of Auburn; sisters, Kara Hickey of Camillus and Chelsie Loperfido of Auburn; maternal grandmother, Patricia Holzhauer of Camillus; paternal grandmother, Joanne Woodman of Auburn; stepsisters, Leah and Kelsey Walsh, both of Auburn; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Relatives and friends may call Monday, February 3 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, February 4 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to E.
