Kevin J. Kerswell, 50, of Baldwinsville, passed away Saturday, August 25, 2007. Born in Niagara Falls on Wednesday, January 9, 1957, he was the son of Wilbur James Kerswell and Audrey Mary Taylor Kerswell. He grew up in Camillus. Kevin moved to California after graduating from college. He taught at Tennyson High School for many years. He was a 1975 graduate of West Genesee High School and was active in the marching band. He received his bachelor's degree from SUNY Oswego, attended Berkeley Univ. and received his master's degree from SUNY Cortland. A teacher with the West Genesee Central School District for several years, he was very involved in school activities. He judged competitive color guard. Kevin also loved being in the classroom teaching his students. He was predeceased by his father, Jim, in 2005. Surviving are his mother, Audrey, of Camillus; sister and brother-in-law, Kyle and Tom Bova of Camillus; brother and sister-in-law, Mark and Peggy Kerswell of Woodbury, Minnesota; niece, Tara (Shea) Joyner of South Carolina and nephews, Bryan Kerswell of Woodbury, Minnesota and James and Jon Bova, both of Camillus. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 30, 2007 at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Friends may call Wednesday, August 29, 2007 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to West Genesee Sports Boosters, c/o Athletic Director, 5203 W. Genesee St., Camillus, NY 13031.
