Kevin Douglas Dirk

Kevin Douglas Dirk, 66, of Harrisburg, NC, passed away on Friday, March 22, 2024, surrounded by his loving family after fighting a difficult battle with ALS. Kevin leaves behind a beautiful legacy. A lifelong fan of Syracuse athletics, he supported them his entire life. Kevin enjoyed traveling, skiing, boating, golfing, and scuba diving. Above all, he loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, family and friends. Kevin loved his wife, Yvonne, of 39 years and went to great lengths to make sure she knew she was a treasure.

Kevin was predeceased by his parents, Freeman and Patricia; brothers and sister-in-law, James and Wendy and Timothy. 

Surviving are his wife, Yvonne (Colle) Dirk; children, Sydney (Tom) Capodicasa, Logan Dirk, and Parker (Justin) Jackson; two grandchildren, Max and Ben; a brother and sisters; and several nieces and nephews.

To honor Kevin’s life, family and friends are invited to gather Friday, April 12, 2024, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. 

A memorial service will follow at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Joe Martin ALS Foundation, 100 N. Tryon St. Suite 3420, Charlotte, NC 28202 in Kevin’s honor. This organization provided support and care for Kevin and his family throughout his battle with ALS.
