Kathleen L. Fialkovic

Kathleen L. Fialkovic, 53, of Syracuse, passed away on Friday at University Hospital. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, she was a graduate of West Genesee High School and received her bachelor's degree from Le Moyne College. Kathy was employed with The Hartford insurance company for over 25 years. She was a member of Pine Grove Health and Country Club and Achilles Heel Training. She loved cats and all types of flowers. Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Kathy was predeceased by her husband, Michael, in 2019; father, David M. Bigsby, in 2022; and brother, David B. Bigsby in 2013.  

Kathy is survived by her mother, Maryanne Bigsby of Syracuse; stepdaughter, Stephanie Brookshire of Fayetteville, NC; aunts, Carol Szkolnik of Syracuse, Susan (William) Davison of Cave Creek, AZ and Angela Franceschetti of Syracuse; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and her “Team Kathy” friends, Amy Brennan, Melissa Gould, Melissa Pouliot and Deborah and Phil Tantillo.

Relatives and friends may call Wednesday, July 12 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. A funeral service will follow at noon.

Kathy will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Cemetery Genesis Mausoleum, Warners.
