Katherine L. Jackemuk Dulian, 81, of Lakeland, passed away Sunday, August 16, 2009 with her sister, Helen Kielecki, as a result of an automobile accident. Born in Syracuse on Tuesday, April 17, 1928, she was the daughter of John Jackemuk and Pauline Gerula Jackemuk. A graduate of Solvay High School, she was a lifetime resident of the Lakeland area. Katherine was employed by Niagara Mohawk for more than 10 years. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Peace Church in Lakeland and former member of the Camillus Elks Ladies Auxiliary. Katherine enjoyed flower gardening, traveling and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Her husband, John Joseph Dulian, died December 11, 2003. She was also predeceased by her brother, John Jackemuk; and sisters, Anna Rowell, Sophia Noga, Mary Koval and Helen Kielecki. Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Marcia and Joseph Dulian-Wood of Andover, Massachusetts; sons and daughter-in-law, Jon “Tony” Dulian of North Tonawanda and Lawrence and Joanne Dulian of Brewerton; sister, Rose Kuzio of Lakeland; brother, Alex Jackemuk of Lakeland; grandchildren, Jenny Roshong, Kenneth, Kyle and Kelli Dulian, Mia Wood and Sydney Wood; great-grandson, Noah Roshong; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral Mass for Katherine and Helen will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, August 20, 2009 in Our Lady of Peace Church. Relatives and friends may call Wednesday, August 19, 2009 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Katherine will be laid to rest in the Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Our Lady of Peace Church, 203 Halcomb St., Syracuse, NY 13209.
