Karen Ann Roche, 77, of Camillus, passed away peacefully on Wednesday at Upstate Community Hospital. Born and raised in Rome, NY, she settled in the Syracuse area in 1948. Karen was a graduate of Most Holy Rosary School. A communicant of St. Joseph’s Church, she worked with BCBS for over 35 years. Karen was an avid reader and could always be found with a Pepsi, her favorite beverage. She loved spending time with her family, especially her nephew, Max.
Karen was predeceased by her parents, John and Ann Roche; and brother, James Roche.
Surviving are her sisters, Kathleen Rowland of Cicero, and Dorothy Clark of Camillus; sister-in-law, Dian Roche of Memphis, NY; niece, Jennifer Indick of Camillus; nephew, Max; and several other nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In honor of her generosity and dedication to advancing medical research, Karen selflessly donated her body to the SUNY Upstate Anatomical Gift Program, leaving a legacy of knowledge and hope.
A memorial service will be laid at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Autism Society of America, 6110 Executive Blvd., Suite 305, Rockville, MD 20852.
