Karen L. Roach

Karen Lee Roach, 52, of Jamesville, passed away Friday, May 21, 2010 at University Hospital. Born in Buffalo on Wednesday, December 4, 1957, she was the daughter of Donald and Shirley Baker. She lived in Jamesville for 14 years. Karen was a graduate of Onondaga Community College and the University of Southern Colorado. A dental hygienist, she worked at various offices in the Syracuse and Fulton areas. She was a former member of Immanuel United Methodist Church. An active member of Greenpeace and Defenders of Wildlife, she was also passionate about music and the ocean, enjoyed gardening, particularly fruits and vegetables. Karen’s family was her world. Karen was predeceased by her father, Donald W. Baker; and mother-in-law and father-in-law, John and Jeanine Roach. Surviving are her husband of 29 years, Timothy; children, Cristal Roach of Syracuse, AM3 Ryan and Erica Roach of Jamesville, Cassandra Roach of Jamesville and Daniel and Angie Welch of Jamesville and stationed in Missouri; mother, Shirley Baker of Camillus; seven grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Judy and Richard Bablok of Cleveland, New York and Barbara and Henry Brigham of Camillus; brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Kim Baker of Chittenango; uncle, Albert E. Baker of Liverpool; and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call Tuesday, June 1 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 2 in Immanuel United Methodist Church with Rev. Heather Williams officiating. Entombment will in Woodlawn Mausoleum, Syracuse.
