Justina (Tellone) Hoffsher

Justina (Tellone) Hoffsher, 92, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully on Friday, surrounded by her loving family at her daughter's home.

Born to Tomasso and Rosa Tellone, Justina was a graduate of Cathedral School and remained deeply connected to her community throughout her life. She found immense joy in her faith and family, with her greatest pleasures rooted in the simple yet profound moments shared with those she held dear.

A true music aficionado, Justina's heart was captured by the timeless tunes of Johnny Mathis, and she cherished the opportunity to attend several of his shows. An avid college basketball fan, she reveled in the excitement of the games, sharing in the triumphs and defeats of her favorite teams.

Justina was predeceased by her beloved husband, Donald, in 1985; and sisters, Flora Crisafi and Matilda Muller.

Surviving are her daughters, Deborah (Philip) Tantillo, Kathleen (Steve) Rudy, and Rosemary (Ted) Smith, all of Syracuse; sons, Donny of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Jim (Marie) of Reston, VA; grandchildren, Stephen, Matthew (Mary Kate), Michael, Leah, Mark, Eric, Daniel (Lindsay), Jake (Katie), Paul (Allyson Hildreth), and Maggie; great-grandchildren, Cameron, Madeline, and Christopher; and many nieces and nephews

Visitation to celebrate Justina’s life will be held on Monday, November 20, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.

A funeral Mass in celebration of Justina's life will take place on Tuesday, November 21, at 10 a.m. in Holy Family Church, 127 Chapel Dr., Syracuse.

Justina will be laid to rest in Assumption Cemetery, Syracuse.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of CNY and of the Finger Lakes, 990 7th N. St., Liverpool, NY 13088, reflecting Justina's compassionate spirit and the gratitude her family feels for the support they received during her final days.
