Julia “Judy” Gillman, 88, of Geddes, passed away Friday, September 28, 2012 at St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, she was born on Wednesday, October 24, 1923 and was the daughter of Louis Lisconish and Irene Patala Lisconish. She was a graduate of Solvay High School. She retired from Chappell's department store, after 19 years. Judy was a lifetime member of Robinson Memorial Presbyterian Church and also belonged to the Western Hills and West Side senior groups. An avid SU basketball fan, she also enjoyed reading and loved spending time with family and friends. Judy was predeceased by her husband, Luther, in 1988; son, W. "Skip" Gillman, in 1994; and brother, John Lisconish. Surviving are her daughters and son-in-law, Carol Heimburg of Syracuse and Judi and Phil White of Clermont, Florida; sons and daughter-in-law, Paul of West Carrollton, Ohio and David and Mary of Delmar; Paul and Carol’s half-sister, Virginia Hickox of Painted Post; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; close cousin, Katherine “Kate” Pisiak of Syracuse; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and a wide circle of friends. Relatives and friends may call Monday, October 1 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Funeral services will be Tuesday, October 2 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home followed by burial at Woodlawn Cemetery, Syracuse. A memorial service will follow on Tuesday, October 2 at 1:30 p.m. in Robinson Memorial Presbyterian Church.
