Julia J. Litz, 83, of Syracuse, died Thursday, September 7, 2006 at University Hospital. Born in LaFayette on Thursday, November 30, 1922, she was the daughter of Michael Lischak and Julia Patala. She graduated from LaFayette High School and resided the rest of her life in Syracuse. Julia was a communicant of St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church and helped in their school cafeteria and was formerly employed by GE. She enjoyed camping and traveling. A lover of gardening, she was especially fond of growing peaches and tomatoes. Julia's husband, Alphonse Raymond Litz, died April 16, 2003. Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Glenn and Shirley Litz of Manlius; daughter-in-law, Joan Litz of Syracuse; sisters, Mary Kulba and Anne Lewicki, both of Syracuse, Helen Kotyra of Atlanta, Georgia and Catherine Pisiak of East Syracuse; brother, William Lischak of Onondaga Hill; grandchildren, Wendy (Brian) West-Pidkaminy and Heidi (Jeffrey) Skinner; foster grandson, Fred (Lee) Melnik and four great-grandchildren. Services will be at 8:45 a.m. Monday, September 11, 2006 at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus and at 9:30 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church where a Divine Liturgy for the Deceased will be celebrated. Friends may call Sunday, September 10, 2006 from 2 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home. Panakhyda services will be Sunday at 4:45 p.m. Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery.
