Joyce A. Hofmann Cantello, 83, of Camillus, passed away Tuesday at The Centers at St. Camillus. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, she lived in Camillus since 2002. She was a 1956 graduate of St. Patrick's High School. An active communicant of Holy Family Church, Joyce was involved with many ministries, including the choir, altar cleaning and funeral luncheon committee. She enjoyed crocheting, baking and cooking.
Joyce was predeceased by her husband, Frank, in 2007; father, Bradley Hofmann; mother and stepfather, Thelma and Anthony Macro; and daughter, Natalie Cantello-Pompi, in 2005.
Surviving are her daughter, Gina (Jill) Cantello of Clay; son, Frank A. (Annmarie) of Camillus; sister, Janis (Michael) McNinch of Greenville, SC; brother, Thomas (Joan) Hofmann of North Syracuse; son-in-law, John Pompi of Baldwinsville; grandchildren, Danielle (Brian) Potaczala and Ashley (Christopher) Grosso, both of Camillus, Brittany (Kevin) Pompi and Matthew (Tatyana) Pompi, both of Baldwinsville; great-granddaughters, Madison and Morgan Potaczala; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Relatives and friends may call Thursday, March 24 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, March 25 at 12:30 p.m. at Holy Family Church. Joyce will be laid to rest in Assumption Cemetery, Syracuse.
