Joseph Ralph Battisti

Joseph Ralph Battisti, 83, of Syracuse, passed away Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at the VA Medical Center in Buffalo. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, he was born on Tuesday, May 4, 1926 and was the son of Gregory Battisti and Mary Paduana Battisti. Joseph was an Army veteran of World War II and a Purple Heart recipient. Surviving are his wife, the former Mary Ann Clements; sons and daughters-in-law, Anthony and Lisa DaRin of Manlius and James and Michelle DaRin of Jamesville; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jerome and Anita Battisti of Syracuse and Armond and Rose Battisti of Florida; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 12 in St. Joseph’s Church, Camillus. Private burial will be in Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Arrangements are by Buranich Funeral Home, Camillus. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the SPCA, 5878 E. Molloy Rd., Mattydale, NY 13211.
