Joseph Peter Senus, 43, of Camillus, passed away Friday, February 2, 2018 at Strong Memorial Hospital. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, he was a graduate of West Genesee High School and earned his bachelor's degree from SUNY Oswego. Joseph was a United States military veteran. He was employed with the Town of DeWitt Police Department for 12 years before retiring in 2018 and previously worked at the Camillus Police Department. Joseph was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church and member of the National Rifle Assoc. and DeWitt PBA. He was a volunteer at 22Kill and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Above all, Joseph loved camping with his children at Cranberry Lake.
Surviving are his children, Victoria and Jack; parents, Michael and Irene of Camillus; fiancé, Mary Triano of Camillus; brothers, Michael (Barbara) of Eden and Peter (Arlene) of Bordentown, NJ; three nephews; and several cousins.
Relatives and friends may call Tuesday, February 6 from 4 to 7 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Church, 5600 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, February 7 at 10:30 a.m. at the church. Joseph will be laid to rest in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Marcellus.
