Joseph N. Mandolfo, 88, of Camillus, passed away peacefully on Tuesday at The Cottages at Garden Grove. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, he attended North High School. A man of faith, Joseph was a communicant of Holy Family Church and lived his life with kindness and generosity. He was a man of many passions and talents. From his days in the Army National Guard to his 31-year career as a dedicated tool and gauge journeyman at New Venture Gear, Joseph always approached life with a can-do attitude and a willingness to help others. He found joy in tinkering with things and being a "Mr. Fix It," traits that endeared him to all who knew him. Joseph's love for the outdoors was evident in his hobbies, from fly tying and fishing to hunting and golfing. He found solace in nature and took great delight in all of God's creations. An avid fan of the Buffalo Bills, CB radio enthusiast, and lover of music and old western movies, his interests were as diverse as they were heartfelt.
Joseph was predeceased by his first wife, Cecelia Busco; second wife, Margaret Salvagno; parents, Giuseppe and Santa; and siblings, Mary, Josephine, Florence, and Sebastian.
Surviving are his daughters, Theresa (James) Myers of Rockton, IL, and Mary Jo (Michael) Hyde of Solvay; son, Joseph (Lisa) of Brewerton; grandchildren, Andrew, Anthony, and Joseph Mandolfo and Sarah Schmidt; great-grandson, Maison; and several nieces and nephews.
