Joseph M. Guadagnolo Sr., 90, of Fairmount, passed away Thursday, January 19, 2017 at The Centers at St. Camillus. Born in Glasco, NY he was raised in Larchmont before moving to Syracuse in 1949. A graduate of Mamaroneck High School, Joseph was a Navy veteran of WWII. He was employed with SU and Onondaga County for 21 years and previously worked for Wadanola Barber & Beauty Supply. Joseph was a communicant of Holy Family Church and former member of Knights of Columbus. He volunteered at Community General Hospital. An avid fisherman and hunter, Joseph enjoyed camping and boating. He also enjoyed watching SU sports, especially lacrosse. Above all, he loved spending time with his family.
Joseph was predeceased by his parents, Michael and Frances; siblings; and grandson, Aaron Guadagnolo.
Surviving are his wife of 67 years, the former Frances Domanico; daughters, Jeanne (Glenn) Candee of Phoenix and Mary Louise (Wayne) Devaney; sons, Joseph (Cherie) Jr. and Thomas (Gayle) Guadagnolo; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call Sunday, January 22 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, January 23 at 10 a.m. in Holy Family Church. Joseph will be laid to rest in St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt.
